Season 3 of "The X Factor USA" features a "Four Chair Challenge" in which the Top 40 contestants will perform in front of the four judges and a live crowd. A new preview video gives fans a taste of what to expect from the challenge.
Each contestant either gets sent to a "chair of safety" or gets sent packing on the spot. But "The X Factor" throws a monkey wrench into the process, as even those contestants in the chairs are not truly safe until all acts from their categories have performed.
As MStars previously reported, the new judges' panel appeared at the Television Critics Association press tour back in August and talked about some of the changes in the new season.
Cowell, who also serves as executive producer, said he, Rowland, Rubio and Lovato have blended well together.
"I feel really comfortable with the girls and I think it's going to be the best show we've made so far," Cowell said, according to TVLine. "It's got an energy about it this year which has been lacking before. So, I'm confident."
Cowell also said that his confidence comes from the judges' panel's uniqueness.
"It just felt that with all the shows, the judging panels were beginning to look the same," Cowell said. "Most importantly, when we sat down and spoke to [Lovato, Rowland and Rubio], it was really, how passionate are you about doing this job properly, working with the artist properly and actually trying to find a star at the end?"
