Ahead of the release of her self-titled album in November, Avril Lavigne has released yet another single. This time, the "Rock N Roll" singer dropped, "Let Me Go," a track co-written and featuring her Nickelback husband Chad Kroger.
The mark of Kroeger in Lavigne's life and in her music is very clear in "Let Me Go," which sounds like one of Nickelback's many ballads. (Think in the tone "Someday," "How You Remind Me.") "I'm breaking free from these memories / Got to let it go, just let it go / I said goodbye, set it all on fire, Got to let it go," the married duo sing in the track's powerful chorus.
The build of the track is brooding and moody, which fits in with Lavigne's mystique. The rock edge brought from Kroeger's writing and production adds maturity to the track, something unseen in the first two singles from "Avril Lavigne." It shows a positive direction for the Lavigne's fifth studio album.

"Let Me Go" is the third single from Avril Lavigne's upcoming self-titled album. It was preceded by "Here's To Never Growing Up" and "Rock N Roll." "Avril Lavigne" is due out Nov. 5. Lavigne and Kroger married on July 1 (Canada Day) in the South of France.
