Glasser, real name Cameron Mesirow, took the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday night for a headlining show as part of the CMJ Music Marathon 2013. The young, experimental singer entranced the audience throughout the show with her blend of dance, synthesized pop and electronica.

Glasser took the stage just before midnight to a packed house inside the main room of the music hall. Flanked by one large screen, one small screen and her drummer/synthesizer/all-purpose sound maker, Shayna Dunkelman (who wore Pikachu pants), the artist took the fans, quite literally, on a journey through the sky, outer space and the inner space of her own mind. The screens displayed the scenery, which ranged from a beautiful, clear blue sky to an Alice in Wonderland-style twisting hallway of doors to a fluid, metallic gray ball that constantly changed shape.

Fans moved rhythmically and hypnotically to the sounds and Glasser had an ear-to-ear smile on her face for much of the show as she moved about and cast a dark silhouette on the large screen that purposefully contrasted with the brightness of the scenery.

Glasser released her second full-length album, Interiors, on Oct. 4 and much of Tuesday's performance consisted of tracks from the new record. The songs featured a mix of quick, peppy bursts and slow, almost dreamlike motion, and Glasser brought both ends of the spectrum to the stage to close out the night.

Mesirow's father is a member of the Blue Man Group in Germany, while her mother, Casey Cameron, co-founded the new wave band Human Sexual Response. With such a musical background, it's unsurprising that Glasser managed to craft her style into what it has become.
