Cher Lloyd has announced the title of her second studio album. The "I Wish" singer's new effort will be called Sorry I'm Late, according to Billboard.
The album title has several meanings, according to Lloyd, both about the timing of her sophomore effort and about the music and her personal journey. "I think it has two meanings. It's been a long time since I've actually done anything new, but for me, it's as a person," said Lloyd. "I've spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out who I am, and I think everybody goes through that."
Despite the personal touches, Lloyd told Billboard that the irony of the album title combined with the album delays is not lost on her. "I think that album title basically sums up all the music, too. It's been a long time, and here it is, and I'm really sorry that it's a little late," she said.
Sorry I'm Late will be the sophomore effort from Lloyd. The album title does have validity. Her debut, Sticks + Stones was released in the UK nearly two years ago in Nov. 2011. That record spawned the track Lloyd is best known for in the States, "Want U Back."
As for Sorry I'm Late, little is known about the upcoming album. Lloyd released the lead single, "I Wish," in September, with a quirky music video following on Sept. 24. Other album tracks and a release date have yet to be confirmed for Sorry I'm Late.
