Earlier this week, Eminem debuted the third single from his highly-anticipated new album MMLP2 entitled "Rap God." Some fans found Slim Shady's rhymes rather homophobic and offensive. For example:
"Now at the exact same time/I attempt these lyrical acrobat stunts while I'm practicing that/I'll still be able to break a motherf#ckin' table/Over the back of a couple of f#ggots and crack it in half."
You f#gs think it's all an Annotate game 'til I walk a flock of flames/Off a plank, and tell me what in the f#ck are you thinking?/Little gay looking boy/So gay I can barely say it with a straight face looking boy."
"You witnessing a massacre/Like you watching a church gathering take place looking boy/Oy vey, that boy's gay, that's all they say looking boy."
Among several other controversial lyrics. One celebrity not a huge fan of Shady's harsh words? English singer/songwriter, Boy George.
On Thursday (Oct. 17), Boy George tweeted:
@BoyGeorge: "Yeah, let's all think the same and buy another album!" (He provides a link to an article entitled "'You F#gs All Think the Same' Claims Eminem's New 'Rap God' Single").
The former Culture Club singer then wrote:
@BoyGeorge: "@Eminem F#g? Is this really recovery talk or are you running your own program these days?"
Boy George then reached out to fans, pleading with them to not post such negative comments about Slim Shady:
@BoyGeorge: "My comment about 'Eminem's use of 'F#g' was not a call to my followers to post further abuse! Really unhelpful!"
He followed-up with:
@BoyGeorge: "Isn't it sad how the media just accepts abuse of gay people? #f#cked."
Later, Boy George responded to one fan:
@Cazglambert_: "@BoyGeorge I agree. Some radio station doesn't play Adam Lambert music because his gay. It's sucks."
@BoyGeorge: "@Cazglambert I was talking about Adam yesterday in an interview and I said this very thing. If he was British, he's be huge here!"
So... do Mstars fans still plan on purchasing Eminem's new album MMLP2 on November 5, 2013?
