'New Girl' & 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' to Run After Super Bowl

Last month Fox premiered Andy Samberg's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a comedy created by Parks and Recreation vets Mike Schur and Dan Goor. They came on the scene with a large viewership, and now the show is getting the very coveted airtime after the Super Bowl on February 2nd, the Associated Press reports. Fox just ordered a full season of episodes to boot, bringing the count to 22 episodes. Zooey Deschanel's New Girl is now in season 3, and will also be running post-Super Bowl. With crowd-pleaser The Mindy Project also part of the Fox lineup, Tuesday nights are comedy at its highest peak.

Samberg plays a New York detective alongside his captain, played by Andre Baugher. Samberg says Baugher is "impeccable," on the show's website. He also had a lot of other adjectives to describe the rest of the cast, who play fellow detectives, adminstrators and sergeants. Joe Lo Truglio is "adorable" (Comedy Central's Reno 911! and roles in Wet Hot American Summer, Superbad) and Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris) "elated." Samberg predictably said that stand-up comedian Chelsea Peretti is "hilarious" and Melissa Fumero (One Life to Live) "sweet-as-pie." Leading lady and detective Stephanie Beatriz is "dynamo." How can you not watch after those zealous reviews? We know Samberg himself has a comedic-gold track record with his seven years at Saturday Night Live.

New episodes are Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET after Dads and before New Girl. Fox posts sneak previews of the next episode for super fans.
