Rapper Kanye West finally gives an explanation for why he brought out a "White Jesus" onto his performance. The "G.O.O.D Music" rapper opened up his "Yeezus" tour in Seattle Washington with the help of Jesus Christ saying during his performance, ""White Jesus, is that you? Oh, sh--!"
The rapper explained to San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9 that he received advice from his friend who is a pastor who understood where he wanted to go with the message, but even Kim Kardashian questioned if bringing "Jesus" on stage would be "weird," he said, "I had a friend of mine that is a pastor and we were discussing how we were going to deliver it. My girl even asked afterwards "isn't that weird if Jesus comes on stage or something like that?"
He later explained to that the moment on stage is a music opera portrayal, "We do plays all the time where people play Jesus. What's awesome about Christianity is that we are allowed to portray God. We're allowed to draw an image of Him. We're allowed to make movies about Him. Other religions you can't do that. Michelangelo did it...It's a painting, it's a sculpture, it's a moving opera, it's a play, it's a message. I'm not even going to do any comparisons with that. God knows where my heart is at."
Lately, West has been nicer towards paparazzi and media folks and it has to be due to "Keeping up with the Kardashian" reality star. Monday, the rapper proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday at the San Francisco's AT&T Park with violins playing "Knock You Down" with "Pleeease Marry Me" in lights on the screen behind the playing strings.
Kardashian said "yes" for the third time after finalizing her divorce with basketball player Kris Humphries in May.
Many saw the proposal coming after telling momager Kris Jenner that he finally had a family again after losing his mother, Donda West, "After I lost my mother, there were times I felt like, I would put my life at risk. I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for," he added, "Now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for. A whole world to live for."
