Katy Perry answered fan questions and performed several songs off of her brand new album Prism last night at the iHeartRadio theater in Los Angeles. The release party set was described as "intimate" by Rolling Stone with Perry sharing the inspiration behind tracks in-between stripped-down versions of the album cuts.

"My head was in a dark place," Perry said after playing an acoustic rendition of 'Roar.' "I thought I was gonna make an acoustic record with depressive shades.

That changed when she reached the studio, however. "All the light hit me and influenced shades, I feel very prismatic." (ahhshesaidit.gif)

Perry went on to say that the song was about finding her "inner strength" as is obvious to anyone who has heard the triumpant single.

Perry also played versions of "Dark Horse,"  and "Unconditionally", which Perry says were inspired by The Craft and a trip to Madagascar with UNICEF, respectively.
