Good thing he's not touring with Aubrey. Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) recently spoke out against Drake's Nothing Was The Same album, noting that the latest from the Canadian hitmaker did little to stick with him.
In an interview with Power 105's Breakfast Club 'Bino said that Drake's album is already out of the public consciousness.
"There was so much hype about Drake's album and everybody was really excited," said Glover. "It felt like it was here and then gone, because people were just like, 'I listened to it. I did the thing I was supposed to do and now I'm done'."
(To be fair, you could say the same about many other super-hyped albums: Random Access Memories, The 20/20 Experience,Yeezus and especially Magna Carta Holy Grail)
Gambino says he's going to drop a new album titled Because The Internet on December 10. Appropriately, he is going to do a massive roll-out with an accompanying movie.
You see, these days an album isn't enough. An artist has to be a fully realized brand. And why? Well, Because The Internet.
"I'm not going to make an album," said Gambino. "I'm going to make the roll out dope. I'm going to make the movie with it dope. I'm going to make a world. Cause the thing is album... it doesn't mean anything."
