The Walking Dead Season 4 is in full swing, but talks of a spinoff continue to circulate. The cast and crew themselves have now weighed in with their ideas for a new show, and they range from space dragons (thankfully that one is just a joke) to the origin of the zombie apocalypse.
The Hollywood Reporter posted an article with quotes from the creator, cast and crew of the show about potential ideas for a spinoff. Creator Robert Kirkman joked that space dragons would be a good idea before he mentioned that he would love to check out another part of the world, something that he's never even done in the comics.
Showrunner Scott Gimple said he does not even know if he would be involved in a spinoff because The Walking Dead takes up so much of his time, but he pointed to the Telltale game and suggested focusing on Lee and Clementine.
Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, suggested looking into the cause and cure of the zombie plague but added "that is completely at odds with what our show is about."
Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne, wants to see how the government responded to the outbreak and trace the dissolution of the country. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, likes the idea of "a village full of children" in a Twilight Zone style.
Lauren Cohan, who plays fan favorite Maggie, is curious what The Walking Dead world would look like with more people, possible in an underground city of some kind.
Steven Yuen joked that it would be fun to focus on Glenn as he delivers pizzas right before the outbreak occurs. Finally, Chad Coleman, who plays Tyreese, wants to incorporate what the apocalypse looks like around the world and for the main characters on The Walking Dead to communicate with other areas. He also discussed the military's involvement in the outbreak.
