Watch the 'Veronica Mars' Movie Trailer

An impressive 91,585 backers supported the Veronica Mars movie on Kickstarter, and they were sent a thank you today with a four-minute long trailer. Stars Kristen Bell ('Veronica,' obviously), Jason Dohring ('Logan'), and Chris Lowell ('Piz') are all featured in it, and give some plot spoilers. There is an ongoing character debate that's not so cut and dry: Logan versus Piz.

The film broke a record on Kickstarter for raising $5,702,153 (far surpassing its $2 million goal). This showed the power of a unique sort of grassroots movement, where fans directly created both the supply and demand for what they love. The project was headed up by writer Rob Thomas (not the musician!), who created and wrote the Veronica Mars television series. He has also created and written other popular shows such as the new 90210, and cult-classic Party Down on Showtime. The distribution partners for the film are Warner Bros.

We talked about Kristen Bell earlier today for her charitable efforts in a celebrity coat drive where you have the chance to own her coat for cheap. This is a big month for Bell. The movie will feature a cameo from husband Dax Shepard and a long list of actors (Justin Long, Jamie Lee Curtis, Martin Starr...it really goes on).
