The accidental hip-hop cult classic King Of New York is getting a Christopher Walken-less remake courtesy of (who else?) Diddy.
Diddy optioned the rights to remake the film (which also starred Wesley Snipes and Laurence Fishburne) and has teamed up with director Brian Grazer on the project.
Diddy may even go so far as to cast himself in the lead role of Frank White, the character famously portrayed by Walken.
"Sean optioned the rights to remake 'King of New York' for two years. The film is a cult classic, and it will be great to remake it," Grazer told the New York Post. "Our version won't be exactly the same, but will have the same hard-core gangster feel. Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing in 'Monster's Ball,' and such strong characters sit perfectly with him."
It will be interesting to see if Diddy can pull this off. Also, expect Kendrick Lamar to sneak in out of nowhere with his own remake.
