Why stars see psychics: We talked to psychic Nevaeh

Stars turn to psychics for guidance in career moves, support in life decisions, and even a look into the future. Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and George Clooney have visited psychics in the past. Other stars are very vocal about it to the media. Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing Tatum's wife, recently talked about her love of mediums to Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately. (At the Academy Awards, Tatum joked that his wife was convinced they'd have a baby girl because a psychic told her...and sure enough, they did!)

What is it about the relationship between psychics and celebrities that is so fitting? Why are actors and musicians who go to psychics successful? (It's not just an entertainment thing -- during the Reagan administration there was an official White House Psychic.) We spoke with Nevaeh of California Psychics, who reads athletes, politicians and well-known celebrities. Here, she gives us insight into the power of psychics in the entertainment world and beyond.

MStars: Do you notice actors, musicians and other people in the spotlight visit psychics more than the rest of the population? What may account for the reason why or why not?

Nevaeh: As psychics, we do not judge, glorify or treat them different. We do not stroke their ego. We tell them the truth. That's why they keep calling back.

I've noticed that most entertainers are creative, extroverts and very sensitive, and they usually have a love for the paranormal. Also, many celebrities display psychokinesis, which is the power of the mind to influence matter. Musicians, on the other hand, seek advice of the spirit world. In the end, they all want to know their future.

MStars: In what ways have you guided or supported a particular career move that ended up affecting pop culture on a larger level?

Nevaeh: At an Emmy Awards show a few years ago, I talked with an up-and-coming celebrity and his wife who had doubts about their careers. They were unsure if they should leave their safety net, and both were about to give up. He feared that if he failed he would have to go back his old corporate job. I told him that they would both have their own shows. One month later, they both got exactly what I had envisioned.

MStars: Have you had intuitions about entertainment news prior -- what kinds?

Nevaeh: Yes, for instance, guiding the celebrity in love, marriage, engagements, getting roles in movies and financial freedom via career moves. Also, I've helped the celebrity when the chips are down or when a career takes a tumble. One client called me unsure where her career would go, if anywhere. Her career faded quickly after she made a crude remark about a high-powered individual. She was fired from every brand she was a part of, she no longer got parts, she was blacklisted, and she didn't know which way to turn. I told her she must do what she did best. I instructed her to go back to her roots on stage and make people laugh again. With guidance, she made the decision that changed her life for the better. She's back on top again because she went back to her roots.

MStars: What specific life topics are you able to give insight into when giving a reading?

Nevaeh: Celebrities become isolated because they become well-known. They're followed constantly by paparazzi and fans with inflated adoration. This becomes very invasive for the celebrity. They find it hard to live a normal life. When they call me, it's all confidential, and they trust me. They can talk about everything from their love life to their career doubts. I give insights into their daunting doubts and their hopeful goals.

MStars: About how often do you feel celebrities go into a reading skeptical versus having an open mind?

Nevaeh: I help guide celebrities to be less negative about themselves and their careers. I gain their trust which helps them open up. Sometimes all they want is someone to listen to them. A screenwriter may find himself stuck. By talking it out, I've found he will find a new perspective. Often, I guide by suggesting meditation, going out to nature or prayer. Sometimes all of the above! There are times when he wouldn't want others to know he's stuck, and that's why he calls a psychic.

MStars: Are you able to comment on any aspect of the stars you have read?

Nevaeh: Everyone is special in some way or another. Celebrities often have to disconnect from the characters they portray or the people that idolize them. I've been told by the celebrity that they are only as good as their last gig, and that gets competitive and stressful. We all have a desire to connect to what is important, loved ones and family, health, and spirit. As a psychic, we help the celebrity keep it real by honoring themselves, too.

For instance, celebrities have called me when they knew their spouse was cheating on them. They want to handle the situation before it hits the tabloids. I'm able to guide them in a way that keeps them centered and focused. They're able to look at things clearly and act appropriately without creating newsworthy scandals.

MStars: Do you ever hold back from telling a client something (why or why not)?

Nevaeh: The only thing I hold back in a psychic reading is death. No one wants to know when their time is up. Also, it's very rare that I'm asked this question.

MStars: Do you use astrology for your clients (how, if so)?

Nevaeh: I don't typically use tools. On the occasions that I'm asked, I use astrology. This is an especially useful tool for compatibility and career paths. I will use astrology as a guide by looking at their charts for major events in their lives. I've also used it to see if that special someone they're considering will be a good union or not.

MStars: What type of support networks do you feel a psychic adds or replaces when it comes to a celebrity?

Nevaeh: I find that celebrities want quick answers to questions they would not ask others. Because the celebrities know we are a trusted and confidential source-something that can be rare in their world-we become very close to them. We become a friend, mentor and guide. We're here when they need us with no judgment. With our expertise, we help them talk things out.
