Mick Jagger's James Brown Biopic casts Dan Aykroyd and Jill Scott

That James Brown biopic Get On Up is getting closer and closer to reality. The project was greenlit back in August and will star Chadwick Boseman (42) as the Godfather of Soul. Now we have news that Dan Aykroyd (of Crystal Head vodka fame) and Jill Scott (of the greatest lady singer of a generation fame) will be joining the cast.

Aykroyd will play Ben Bart, the president of Universal Attractions, at one time one of New York's largest agencies. The agency repped Brown for over 40 years.

In a part that is being written specifically for her, Scott will play Brown's wife.

The film is being produced by Jagged Films, which is Mick Jagger's production company and will focus on  Brown's career and his battles with substance abuse.
