Steven Tyler confirmed that he will have new music coming out in 2014. The only thing is, it won't be with Aerosmith. Tyler told a Boston radio station that he is finishing up songs for a solo album to be released next year. Tyler actually called into a WZLX radio show to talk about the Boston Red Sox's 2013 World Series championship. Tyler returned home to Boston earlier in the week after playing with Aerosmith in Mexico City.
Tyler declared on WZLX that, "the Boston vibe is back" after the Red Sox defeated the Cardinals in the 2013 World Series. However, it was Tyler's confirmation of a solo album release that made headlines. Tyler said he is "finishing up some songs for my solo record that I'm doing." The legendary rocker added that the release date for the solo album could be sometime in January, February, or March.
Tyler seems to be keeping plenty busy as he also said he was heading to Italy with his son to work on his motorcycle line and will then head to Moscow to judge Miss Universe. TheWrap.com via The Chicago Tribune reports that Tyler will be judging the 2013 Miss Universe Competition alongside model Carol Alt, Olympic skater Tara Lipinski, supermodel Anne V, and others. The competition will take place at Crocus City Hall in Moscow and air Nov. 9 at 9pm ET on NBC. The hosts this year will be Mel B and MSNBC's Thomas Roberts. Listen to Tyler's call to the WZLX here.
So now that Tyler confirmed he has a new solo album coming out in 2014, what about Aerosmith? Tyler predicted to Billboard back in June that the band would be "working on the new Aerosmith record" in the near future. In that same article from Billboard, Tyler said he hoped to have his solo album ready to be released in 2014. Well it seems he is on pace to complete one of those.
