Original Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is a free woman. The MTV reality star was released from an Indiana prison after less than two years behind bars, according to TMZ.
Portwood was sentence to five years for violating her drug probation in 2012 after being found in possession of pills and failing to receive her GED. Though she had the option to complete a rehab program, Portwood chose prison instead, insisting past stints in rehab had failed to make her come clean.
She was released just 17 months into her five-year sentence, due to credit for time served, exhibiting good behavior and completing substance abuse programs, according to E! Online.
Dressed in a gray sweatsuit, white sneakers and hair in a bump, Portwood was in good spirits upon leaving the prison, telling TMZ she was looking forward to visiting with family and friends and getting "something good to eat."
None of Portwood's original Teen Mom co-stars or her baby daddy Gary Shirley have spoken about her release on Twitter. However, Portwood was met by her mother and brother, Shawn.
Portwood is the mother to 4-year-old Leah Leann Shirley. Her former boyfriend Gary has full custody of the child.
