It may not be time to out the turkey in the oven quite yet, but some of music's biggest stars are starting to prepare for Thanksgiving. Today (Nov. 5) the musical lineup for the 87th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was announced, and it includes both musical veterans and some of the industry's rising stars.
According to Gossip Cop, Carrie Underwood, Fall Out Boy and Joan Jett are among some of the big acts to take New York City by storm this holiday.
Spanning all kinds of genres, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade isn't leaving anyone out. Ariana Grande will bring a little sweet R&B flavor to the parade, while rising pop acts Austin Mahone and Fifth Harmony will help to make pre-teen girls happy. Gavin Degraw and the Goo Goo Dolls can bring in the adult alternative crowd while Florida Georgia Line will "Cruise" in with their country flavor.
Those big musical acts will also be joined by: "I Wish" singer Cher Lloyd, former American Idol contestant and country singer Kellie Pickler, Smash star Megan Hilty and actress/singer Kristen Chenowith.
The musical acts will be joined by some kitschy TV flavor. Late Night host Jimmy Fallon will appear alongside his companions The Roots and their neighbors from Sesame Street. Additionally, the Duck Dynasty cast will have a float in the parade, though it's unknown whether or not they'll just be smiling and waving or performing a track from their Christmas album, which was released in stores this week.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an American tradition, coming into its 87th year. The parade will air on NBC on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) at 9 a.m. EST.
