DC Comics has seen a lot of success with its new television series Arrow. The hit CW series is currently in its second season and is bringing in great reviews and ratings, so the announcement of some DC character themed shows popping up definitely makes a lot of sense for all involved. Let's take a look at some new television shows based on DC characters that are in the works!

Not all of these projects will actually be made, but as of now this is a short list of some shows that are currently being shopped around to networks.

One of the more interesting television shows in development is Amazon, a series that will tackle one of the biggest characters from the DC universe: Wonder Woman. This project seems to have some sort of curse attached to it, considering a Wonder Woman film and TV show have failed in the recent past. But fans still want to see the character outside of the comics, so it would be great to have this work out. Amazon would involve an origin story like Smallville.

DC's Hourman project is reportedly getting developed by The CW, focusing on a lesser-known character that can see one hour into the future. Clearly this super power is enough to base plenty of plotlines on, but Hourman also has ties to the Justice League and other DC characters, thus opening the door for crossovers and cameos.

NBC is reportedly exploring bringing Constantine to the small screen. Though this DC character already saw some big screen action with Keanu Reeves, NBC is willing to bring this antihero to the network. This "risky move" is rememiscent of the network's choice to renew Hannibal for a second season based on acclaim rather than ratings.

Arrow will actually be introducing The Flash into a storyline and then leading into a spinoff staring Glee actor Grant Gustin. This is already happening so get ready!

Maybe the most interesting takes on Batman in recent years would have to be Gotham - a show that has been ordered to series already focusing on a young Jim Gordan before the arrival of Bruce Wayne's alter ego.

Which of these projects are you most excited to see come to television in the near future?
