For the gamers out there that really enjoyed the character of Connor Kenway in Assassin's Creed III, we have some bad news for you if you wanted to see what he's up to after that game came to an end. Thanks to an "Ask Me Anything" segment on Reddit with Assassin's Creed lead writer Darby McDevitt, we now know that Connor will not be featured in any new AC games. How do you think fans will take this news?
For those of you familiar with this character, Connor was a Native American member of the assassins that played a big part in the American Revolution. Connor is the grandson of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag main character, Edward Kenway, thus linking the stories together with a family bond. Connor's father, Haytham, was also involved, but to a lesser degree than the other two.
When asked if Connor would appear in any more Assassin's Creed installments, McDevitt said he had played his part like all of the other characters.
"We planned the Edward, Haytham, Connor saga more than 2 years ago, long before any of you had heard Connor's name or learned his backstory," the lead writer explained to his Reddit audience (and thus the whole Internet). "We had no idea how he (or Haytham) would be received, but we had our own long story to tell, and we embraced it. And it was our hope that - taken together - this saga would represent the story of a family... a migration, a mixing of cultures, and a dashing of ideals... Connor played his part, Haytham played his, and now Edward has had his say too."
So there you have it. I hope you got what you wanted out of this character back when Assassin's Creed III came out.
