Cassie only occasionally comes up in musical conversations nowadays (unless you're listing off long-awaited albums, where she'd sneak in somewhere around Azealia Banks and Jay Electronica) and probably gets called "Diddy's girlfriend" more than anything else. "Indo", her contribution to Solange's alt-R&B sampler Saint Heron, shows why that's a goldurn shame.

The track consists of Cassie beaming her vocals down from the International Space Station as an orchestra practices their violins with diamond-tipped bows. Acilso, there appears to be a Sega Genesis villain creeping around in the background (honestly, I can't be the only one who hears a bassline like that and immediately thinks Streets Of Rage). All together, it makes for an awesome package that only heightens the anticipation for her sophomore LP (which is eight-years-and-counting in the making).

Cassie's latest mixtape (RockaByeBaby) showed her moving in a rap-ish direction, going so far as to jack the beat from Kendrick Lamar's "m.A.A.d. city" for her song "I Know What You Want."

While RockaByeBaby is great, it's nice to see that Cassie is willing to experiment within her own genre on tracks like "Indo."
