The Weeknd is the latest to drop a contribution to the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. His addition, titled "Devil May Cry" is a sky-scraping bit of alt-R&B that will likely lead to a lot of disappointed teens if they're led to pick up Kiss Land.
The track starts out a little rough, like Abel Tesfaye forgot how to move his tongue. It's hard to make out more than the occasional word in the auto-tuned vocal gymnastics of the the first thirty seconds. However, he eventually reigns it in for some epic belting right before the pounding, war-like drums drop.
The track sounds like what everyone hopes the Hunger Games sequel will be: massive, impressive and dark (oh, and less shaky).
The soundtrack to the YA adaptation also features contributions from Coldplay, Christina Aguilera, Lorde and The National.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters (and takes over the cultural zeitgeist) on November 22.
