Jeffrey Tambor is obviously well known for his role as George Bluth Sr. on Arrested Development. We did, thankfully, get another season of the famed cult show, but now we get even more from Tambor as he plays the father figure once again on Fox's sitcom Raising Hope.

Tambor will take on the character of Arnold, Virginia Chance's (Martha Plimpton) estranged father, at least for the time being.

"Jeffrey Tambor is of course, everyone knows, so good at playing the oblivious narcissist," Plimpton previewed for E! News. "He's so dry and he's so underneath. And I love it. It's perfect for this show."

As for how long Tambor will supplement the cast on the Fox show, we don't know, but his fellow cast member is hopeful:

"I know he'll be back," Plimpton says. "He has to be back."

If he continues to be a part of the show, Fox will probably hope ratings will go up, considering his previous impact on TV audiences, although, Arrested Development proved to dispel that kind of assumption with its time on the air.

In a preview released by Fox, Tambor maintains a similar, Bluth-like character in a flashback to when Virginia first saw her dad and mistook him for a modeling scout, an ironic and dark take on what it might be like to try to win a father's approval upon first meeting at a later age. The show has a reminiscent vibe to Arrested Development in certain ways, which might be why the loveable...er amusing actor fit well into the role.

This Friday, Nov. 15, Raising Hope's fourth season premieres on Fox. Watch this preview below from the first episode of the coming season.
