Alec Baldwin's MSNBC show has been put on hold for the next two weeks, but apparently, according to his Huffington Post blog, he's unsure if it will continue at all.

"Whether the show comes back at all is at issue right now," he wrote. "But if the show dies, its fate ends up being no different than the vast majority of start-up TV programming, and so be it. We do take a small amount of pride in knowing that we beat CNN in the ratings each of our nights. (I forget who they had on at that time.)"

It isn't clear if it's entirely related to the show's airing, but Baldwin was criticized this past week for using gay slurs directed toward a photographer that were caught on camera. MSNBC is likely trying to let this blow over before the show takes off.

Up Late With Alec Baldwin airs Fridays at 10 p.m. and is said in a statement from MSNBC to return on Nov. 29. Certain stars that were scheduled to be on the show, like Ellen Barkin who planned to appear for the Nov. 15 episode are now not happening. Also what Baldwin described as a Nov. 22 report to cover the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination won't come to fruition.

In regards to the slur Baldwin recently made, Rich Ferraro, GLAAD Vice President of communications stated on Friday: "Alec Baldwin still needs to take real action. MSNBC has sent a message that anti-gay slurs carry consequences, and that's an important standard to uphold at a time when LGBT people continue to face disproportionate levels of bullying and violence just because of who they are."
