Seth Rogen gives Twitter hints that AMC orders new pilot episode based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon‘s 'Preacher' comic series

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the troubles behind adapting the Preacher comic series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, it has been in development limbo since 1998. There have been some attempts at turning it into a film, but now there is news that AMC has ordered a pilot for a possible series. Plus, actor Seth Rogen has some sort of involvement with the project according to his Twitter page!

 To be fair, this comic is a bit over the top and it's understandable that adaptations have had trouble in the past. The series of comics follows a small-town Texas preacher who has the power to order command others to do anything he says. This power is called Genesis. That is just the tip of the coolest iceberg, but other aspects of the comic involve a junkie Irish vampire, the preacher wanting to fight God, and a character that failed at committing suicide and goes by the moniker "Arseface."

You can see why it has had trouble coming to the big and small screens in the past, right?

He has yet to clarify what he meant by these tweets, but he is also a talented writer so he could be involved in that matter. Also, it'd be great to see him in a hard-hitting AMC series that is likely to take the place of Breaking Bad.
