Director Bryan Singer and the cast and crew of X-Men: Days of Future Past shot in Montreal for much of the summer, but some of them will return to the Canadian city for reshoots.
The Calgary Herald reports that the cast and crew will be back in Montreal for reshoots for "the next few weeks" to shoot some extra scenes for the film. They had originally filmed from mid-April until late August. The article also points out that Days of Future Past is the second most expensive film ever produced by 20th Century Fox behind Avatar.
Furthermore, Daniel Cudmore, who plays Colossus in the movie, tweeted on Friday that he was "back in Canada and its freakin freezing...and a tad grey..Other then that it's great to be back." The fact that Cudmore is back in Canada for the reshoots seems to indicate that the "future" portion of Days of Future Past will play at least a somewhat significant role in the film.
The plot of the film sees Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) mind sent back into the body of his 1970s self to stop a chain of events that leads to a cataclysmic event for mutants in the future.
The movie boasts a rich cast, including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Halle Berry, Lucas Till, Daniel Cudmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Boo Boo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, Evan Peters, Adan Canto, Josh Helman and (possibly) James Marsden.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled for release on May 23, 2014.
