Alec Baldwin has received some heat from the media and Internet community after he was caught on camera yelling at a photographer, saying what sounded like a gay slur. Now it appears he's trying to make up for it in his own, interesting way.

In front of a large crowd on Wednesday proclaimed his love to a man, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"I want you to be my lover, Matt," Baldwin declared to a member of his entourage after asking him to stand up. "I love you, Matt. I love you in that way."

The audience laughed and seemed to enjoy Baldwin's attempt to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. He made the appearance at a technology conference sponsored by ServiceSource International Inc. in San Francisco, a city that has been vocal for decades about the importance of gay rights.

MSNBC has suspended Baldwin's show Up Late with Alec Baldwin after the controversial comment. As of now, it isn't clear that the show will be returning to the network.

Baldwin, who has had issues before with lashing out at photograhers, mentioned to the crowd that he hopes his 3-month-old daughter will learn to control her temper more than he has.

"If in any context in the world that we live in today, if any word is remotely offensive to people, then I'm perfectly willing to learn a different word," he said.

He talked about easy it is to be instantly judged for something you say when it appears on the Internet.

"There is a drive-by justice to the Internet society," he said. "They indict you, convict you and hang you on the same day."
