Rapper 50 Cent has been pretty quiet these days. Maybe it's because he's so busy with his new business endeavors, including a new acting gig.
The forthcoming TV series Power will be executive produced by and co-star 50 Cent. 50 will co-executive produce alongside Mark Canton ("300") and Randall Emmett (End Of Watch).
The three have worked together before in the past. There projects include "Freelancers" and the upcoming The Tomb.
Courtney Kemp (The Good Wife) wrote the show's script.
The show has just begun production. The show, which will air on the STARZ network, recently began shooting in New York City.
50 will play a recurring role of Kanan, an old friend of James "Ghost" St. Patrick's. Power will tell the story of Patrick, a wealthy club owner who is trying to shake his drug dealing past.
The role of Patrick will be played by Omari Hardwick, best known for his role in the TV series Saved and Dark Blue.
The series will also feature 3LW member Naturi Naughton (Notorious), Lela Loren (Gang Related), Joseph Sikora (Boardwalk Empire), and La La Anthony.
50 Cent has starred in films like his semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin', Home of the Brave and Righteous Kill, to name a few.
The rapper once had his own reality show on MTV called 50 Cent: The Money and the Power. The show initially premiered in 2008 but was later canceled.
50's upcoming project Power is expected to premiere on STARZ in 2014.
