The O.C. is about to take over New Girl, as former O.C. star Adam Brody (who played Seth Cohen on the teen soap) has booked a guest-starring role on Fox's New Girl, according to E! News.
Brody will play Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) ex-boyfriend, Berkeley. He's part of Jess' distant past who reportedly takes being an ex very seriously and is vocal with his feelings. According to E!, he is a "hip stay-at-home dad," which means he could bring a baby with him onto the show!
The actor, who recently got engaged to former Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, will appear in the 14th episode of Season 3, which starts filming on Dec. 2. The show has not set an airdate yet.
The news of Brody's involvement with the show marks another piece of info about New Girl's season. The show recently turned Damon Wayans Jr.'s guest-starring role into a full season schedule. The actor, who also starred on Happy Endings, returned to the show as "Coach," the character he played in the pilot episode.
Fox also tinkered with its Tuesday schedule, though New Girl remains untouched at the 9 p.m. hour. Glee will also air on Tuesday nights again, as will Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 9:30 p.m. and The Mindy Project at 9:30 p.m. starting April 1.
