How I Met Your Mother has jumped through time throughout its entire nine-season run, and this final season has been no different. The entire season is set at Barney and Robin's wedding weekend in Farhampton, but numerous episodes have flashed back and flashed forward to different points in the characters' lives. A new report reveals that an upcoming episode will show a major development in Ted's life.
The "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online reports that HIMYM will soon show Ted's young daughter and son, as well as an older version of another character:
"Debbie: Desperate for some HIMYM scoop!
Strap in, 'cause it's flash-forward time! Not only will we meet an 18-year-old Marvin on the CBS hit sitcom by series' end, but we'll also meet a younger version of the son (David Henrie) and the daughter (Lyndsy Fonseca)! (Prepare to say 'awww!' when you see the latter. A lot.)"
Ted's infant daughter appeared in the Season 7 episode "Trilogy Time," which revealed that he had a baby by the year 2015. It's unclear at this point how old these upcoming versions of Ted's children will be, but we'll take a guess and say in the toddler range. As for Marvin, we've seen glimpses of him as a somewhat older child, but not as an 18-year-old. Future Ted says in one episode that Marvin is 6'8", so we can only imagine how tall this 18-year-old version of the Eriksen baby will be.
How I Met Your Mother airs at 8 p.m. Eastern on Mondays on CBS.
