Sherlockians, Watsonites and general Cumberb*tches of the world, take note! Sherlock is finally returning for season 3 on New Years Day 2014.
The BBC has confirmed the airdate and even drove a hearse around filming locations with the date 01-01-14 scrawled on the side (to mark Sherlock's return from the dead in "The Empty Hearse").
There's even a bit of a plot synopsis floating around:
"Two years after the devastating events of 'The Reichenbach Fall', John appears to have got on with his life. New horizons and romance beckon. But, with London under threat of a devastating terrorist attack, Sherlock is about to take John at his word, staging his resurrection with all the theatricality that comes so naturally to him. If Sherlock thinks everything will be just as he left it, though, he's in for a very big surprise..."
The first episode will air January 1, the second episode ("The Sign Of Three") will air January 5 and the third and final episode (the Moffat-penned "His Last Vow") will close out the series on January 12.
What do you think? Are you excited for the return of Sherlock?
