Thanksgiving week means less original television programs, but there was still plenty to go around this year. From The Walking Dead's midseason finale to How I Met Your Mother's rhyming episode, we present the Best and Worst Moments from the Week in Television. As always, spoilers ahead:
Best Moments:
1) The Walking Dead's midseason finale: I probably don't need to say anymore than that, but I will anyway. The Walking Dead delivered one of its bloodiest and most action-packed episodes in the Season 4 midseason finale, which saw the deaths of multiple characters. The Governor led an assault on the prison with a freaken' tank and the brutal hour ended with, among others, the death of The Governor and (presumably) baby Judith. The prison is now overrun with walkers and Rick's former home is destroyed. No wonder this show's ratings are sky-high.
2) Football, football, football: If you're a fan of the pigskin (either college or pro), this was a dream week for you. The endings of Ohio State-Michigan and Auburn-Alabama in the college ranks and Steelers-Ravens, Giants-Redskins and Broncos-Chiefs in the pro ranks were enough to make any football fan happy.
Worst Moments:
1) HIMYM's rhyming episode: If we had a "mediocre moments" category, I'd stick this in there, but alas, we don't. The rhyming episode was ambitious and creative, but you know what it wasn't? Funny. Or important, for that matter. Aside from a few chuckles and a laugh-out-loud moment (Lin-Manuel Miranda rapping about how nothing rhymes with Canada), the episode was largely unconnected to the wedding weekend until the very end, when it delayed Marshall's arrival at Farhampton even more.
2) Lady Gaga's Muppets special: It's not that ARTPOP singer's Thanksgiving special was bad, but it tanked in the ratings and generally underwhelmed.
