It's become quite clear that Ron Burgundy is going all out with some of the most interesting choices for promotion with his upcoming film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. As we previously announced, the newsman has a couple of connections to Canada. He promoted Toronto mayor Rob Ford with his campaign song on Conan, and then he was slotted to appear at the Canadian Curling Trials for some pre-Olympics action.
Not only did he make it to the event, primed for some intense curling action, he made the reasonable choice to wear a kilt. The trials took place in Winnipeg on Sunday, broadcasted by cable channel TSN.
The Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings tournament had fans roaring, and Burgundy seemed to enjoy the festivities. "I tell you, Winnipeg is the Paris of Canada," he said. "The limo ride from the airport was first class all the way. They had roast pig for me. An entire roasted pig there in the limo."
Only the best. Burgundy isn't always about big events and nationally televised broadcasts. Sometimes he goes back to his roots. He did just that with his real-life appearance on a North Dakota news station last week.
Ferrell must have a superman-style wardrobe with him at all times, multiples of the exact same getup because his signature burgundy suit is always pressed, and his team of mustache groomers seem to be on call at a moment's notice. He's everywhere, and we keep watching.
