Britney Spears 'Britney Jean' sales flop in the UK

Britney Spears' new album Britney Jean is getting destroyed by critics across the land and apparently John Q. Public isn't to keen on the release either. Britney Jean sales flopped in the UK this week - it currently sits at a lowly no. 19 on the projected UK Charts.

Britney Jean may be facing down the problem of listener fatigue when it comes to cookie-cutter EDM production (courtesy of the style's patron saint Will.i.am) and her own failure to deliver on the promise of a more personal album.

All reviews of Britney Jean have pointed out that Spears barely registers on her own release, coming in to deliver a few lines in the middle of a maelstrom of forgettable synths.

In addition, Britney did very little in the way of promotion for her album. Compare the scant interviews and press releases with the months-long barrage of ARTPOP and Prism news.
