Kanye certainly hasn't been making any friends during his whirlwind tour of radio shows. Now he has the Anti-Defamation League on his back after making remarks they dubbed "anti-Semitic" on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.
The remark in question went as follows:
Lemme tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People wanna say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing ... that's 'cause he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people!
The ADL responded with a press release that called the Yeezus rapper out on his remarks.
"If the comments are true as reported, this is classic anti-Semitism," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government. As a celebrity with a wide following, Kanye West should know better. We hope that he will take responsibility for his words, understand why they are so offensive, and apologize to those he has offended."
Of course, at this point everyone should know better than to expect an apology from Mr. West. Yeezy has berated Sway Calloway, Chad Hurley, Jimmy Kimmel and President Obama this year, and I believe Sway's the only one who got him to take it back.
Mr. Foxman, you are no Sway Calloway. So, I wouldn't be holding my breath for a response from West.
