Heidi Montag opens up about financial problems

Fans of the once popular MTV reality show The Hills are in for a treat. Heidi Montag is sitting down with E! and she's spilling the beans about her personal life. Montag recently did an interview with In Touch magazine as well. Maybe she'll clarify a few things with E!

One thing that came up during Montag's interview with In Touch was her crazy spending habit. Montag and hubby Spencer Pratt came close to filing bankruptcy a couple years ago after Montag spent $30,000 on plastic surgery. The Hills star says the couple blew through $10 million.

Montag admitted during the interview that the couple went a little overboard with their spending, seemingly trying to "keep up with the Jones.'"

"We were immature and we got caught up," Pratt told In Touch. "Every time we'd go out to eat, we'd order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000 to $30,000 a day. We thought we were Jay Z and Beyoncé."

It looks like the couple made a change for the better and has curbed their spending habits. But money wasn't the only issue Montag and Spencer discussed with In Touch. Montag also opened up about her time as a reality star.

She says the show was "a great experience," but she is glad those days are long gone.

When asked about her relationship with her former best friend and co-star Lauren Conrad, Montag said the two have spoken on the phone a couple times since the show. We're guessing she won't be at Conrad's forthcoming wedding.
