The hype for Anchorman 2 :The Legend Continues has been immense. With Will Ferrell appearing as Ron Burgundy at multiple locations to promote the film and staying entirely in character (it's clear that he has truly become the newsman we all know and love), Rolling Stone has dedicated its next cover story to Burgundy.
In the feature, Ferrell and director Adam Mckay talk about the filming in Atlanta and some of the unexpected cameos the comedy sequel will feature. He may not be known for his comedic chops necessarily, but Kanye West is a huge fan of the original film, actually quoting Burgundy on a number of occasions, and he got to spend a little time with News Team 4 in Atlanta during shooting. Paparazzi captured the rapper sporting an eighties style fade and using a hokey stick as a weapon.
West was a great sport and came prepared to get into the action. "Kanye was great," McKay said. "He really locked in. He asked me a ton of questions. He's super-interested in process - he's a big fan of comedy. He took private lessons in beginner's improv with a friend of mine in Chicago a few years ago."
Kim Kardashian joined him for his cameo shoot. She was then only a month away from giving birth to North. McKay describes her as being totally normal girl, despite the fact that she is one of the most googled people on the planet.
Not only did West get the chance to work next to some of his comedy heroes, he also shared some of the tracks he was currently working on for Yezzus. "He rapped us a new song, then rapped it again for hair and make-up - so awesome," McKay said. "What's the single?" Ferrell asked. "I think it was 'New Slaves' - the really strident one. Whichever one gets off on a rant. He was like, 'You guys want to listen to some new tracks?' We're like, Yeah, sure! Then he started performing, and it gets to the point where he's screaming. He goes a full 100-miles-an-hour. Then he'd turn off and go, 'Anyway, thanks.' It was hilarious."
