Toni Braxton still has her heart set on playing her dream role...as a lesbian. The singer, songwriter, reality star and actress has been dying to play this part and hopes to make it a reality on Netflix's hit show Orange Is The New Black.

In a recent interview with TheGrio, Braxton made this confession:

"I'm hoping to be on Orange Is the New Black. That's my favorite show. I'm hoping... we'll see. I told you I wanted to be a lesbian... I still want that."

During the interview, Braxton also discussed her retirement announcement. Back in February, Braxton announced that she would be retiring from music. Maybe she was hoping that would give her more time to focus on her acting?

But she later retracted saying, "Retiring is off the table now. I don't know what I was thinking."

Braxton is currently working on a duets album with Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds. Braxton and Babyface's new single, "Hurt You," sits at the top of Billboard's Adult R&B Charts. This is Braxton's first No.1 chart-topper since "Just Be a Man About It." The single led the charts for two weeks back in 2000.

The duo's album entitled Love, Marriage, & Divorce is scheduled to hit stores February 4, 2014.

As far as playing on Orange Is The New Black, we're interested to see how that works out for Braxton. That should be interesting if everything works out in her favor.

Braxton made her acting debut in the 2001 comedy film Kingdom Come.

What do you think of Toni Braxton joining the cast of Orange Is The New Black?
