Paramount Pictures could be bring Indiana Jones back to the big screen now that it has acquired the rights to the franchise. In the past, Harrison Ford has said he'd be interested in reprising his role again, so perhaps we'll be getting Indiana Jones 5 in the near future?

Variety reports:

"The Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures have reached a distribution and marketing agreement for the Indiana Jones franchise. Under the arrangement, Disney gains distribution and marketing rights to future films, in addition to retaining the ownership rights it secured when it acquired Lucasfilm."

Reports are also indicating that there has yet to be an announcement of the fifth Indiana Jones movie, but it could definitely happen.

Earlier this year, star Harrison Ford mentioned that he was interested in returning to the popular series that he healed for four previous installments. He also said this while dodging Star Wars Episode VII questions, so who knows how serious he was.

Also, director Steven Spielberg directed the previous Lucasfilm movies, but has yet to make a statement on a new movie for the franchise.

Right now we should just take this news as it comes before jumping to conclusions. Though it should be said that the entire series has earned around $1.9 billion, so we shouldn't be too surprised if this move is announced soon!

Would you want to see a new Indian Jones movie come out in the near future? Do you want to see Harrison Ford back in the iconic role? What did you think of The Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull?
