Singer-songwriter St. Vincent has revealed the details surrounding a new album, St. Vincent, which she says will be out in February.
According to NME, the singer said of the new album, "I knew the groove needed to be paramount... I wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral."
In addition, St. Vincent has released the first single off the upcoming album, "Birth In Reverse." Check it out below.
The tracklisting for St Vincent is below:
'Rattlesnake'
'Birth In Reverse'
'Prince Johnny'
'Huey Newton'
'Digital Witness'
'I Prefer Your Love'
'Regret'
'Bring Me Your Loves'
'Psychopath'
'Every Tear Disappears'
'Severed Crossed Fingers'
Hmm...a song by a white singer who caters to a largely white audience named after a famed Black revolutionary, I see no way in which this could go wrong. Salon should probably start writing their thinkpieces now to get ahead of the rush.
St. Vincent's last release was the double-headlining tour promo Brass Tactics. This new album will be her first album proper since 2011's Strange Mercy.
St Vincent drops February 24.
