Will Ted Mosby appear in the How I Met Your Mother spinoff 'How I Met Your Father?'

How I Met Your Mother is in the midst of its ninth and final season, but the show will live on in a way with the spinoff series entitled How I Met Your Father. Reaction to the news has been mixed because some fans feel that the magic would be lost without the original cast. But could some of those original cast members be in the new show?

That's the question tackled by the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online in which Cristin Milioti (The Mother) and Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby) reveal their potential appearances in the spinoff:

Cristin Milioti, aka The Mother, put rumors to rest and confirmed that she will definitely not be in the spinoff. However Josh Radnor said that you 'probably' won't see Ted in the spinoff, which means there is a chance Mr. Mosby could pop up. And if you've been missing the Mother lately, do not miss the 200th episode, which Milioti said will 'fill in the mother stuff.' Bonus scoopy tidbit: Jason Sege revealed that soon we will find out who wins the battle over where Marshall and Lily are going to live."

The spinoff will reportedly focus on a new set of characters and will tell the story of a young woman's search for love in New York City, similar to the Ted Mosby story in HIMYM. MacLaren's Pub may also appear in the spinoff to link the two shows together.
