Former actress, Shannon Guess Richardson pleaded guilty to sending President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ricin-laced letters.
According to the Associated Press, a federal court in Texarkana, Texas, Richardson's attorney reached a deal that would cap her sentencing time to 18 years for producing ricin- a toxin that can cause respiratory failure if inhaled. The former actress was arrested in June after she lied to officials that her husband Nathan Richardson had done it after he filed for divorce.
Shannon wrote the President: "What's in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president."
Authorities later connected Shannon to the crime when evidence revealed she ordered the materials online.
The 35-year-old actress appeared on "The Walking Dead" and the movie "The Blind Side." She also is the mother of six children - including one child born prematurely while she was in custody this year.
Shannon's attorney, Tonda Curry, says she is ready to admit what she has done and if she had any accomplices, "Shannon is anxious to admit her role in ordering the components to make the ricin, her role in the letters that contained the ricin, and to tell the government who else was involved in those offenses," Curry said.
