It's a good day to be Adam Sandler, depending on how you look at it. The comedic actor has topped Forbes' list of the Most Overpaid Actors for 2013, thanks to high pay demands that don't necessarily lead to high audience demand.
According to Forbes, even in 2013 Sandler can still ask for $15 million a movie, but his productions don't live up to his huge paychecks. Two of Sandler's most recent films Jack & Jill and That's My Boy made a combined $207 million, though they cost a total of $150 million to make.
Eventually, that means that for every dollar Sandler was paid to act in a movie, he only made the studio a paltry $3.40. To figure out that number, Forbes looked at pay, movie budgets and expenses for things such as advertising. In the end, it doesn't look good for the former Saturday Night Live comedian.
Ouch!
Of course, Sandler wasn't the only actor to be overpaid on Forbes' list. Not too far behind him was Katherine Heigl, who only brought $3.50 for every dollar paid, thanks to movies like Killers and One for the Money, which flopped at the box office and were forgotten by critics and fans almost instantaneously.
Other floppy actors and actresses include Reese Witherspoon ($3.90 return on investment), Nicolas Cage ($6) and Kevin James ($6.10).
