American Horror Story Coven spoilers feature two major character deaths

American Horror Story: Coven returns Wednesday night with its midseason finale entitled "Head." Appropriately, the most recent episode of the series ended with Madame LaLaurie's (Kathy Bates) head in a box that Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) sent to the witch's academy. But as usual with this show, that was only the tip of the crazy iceberg.

Tonight's episode will feature two major character deaths as the witch hunter is hot on the trail of the coven and the war continues between Marie and the rest of the witches. The "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online has more information:

"Cynthia: AHS: Coven is my addiction this season. What craziness can I expect from tonight's hour?
Don't lose your head (LOL, get it?!), but there are at least two major deaths that go down in tonight's episode. (And there are several minor ones as well.) One is pretty darn violent, while the other is hard to watch for very different reasons. Oh, and we will definitely be seeing Madame LaLaurie's body again, but don't expect to see it reunited with her head anytime soon. (Kathy Bates, you glorious woman, you.)"

Two major character deaths and several minor ones could mean that just about anyone is on the chopping block tonight. Minor deaths probably refer to some of the lesser-known witches or possibly even a few extras. But as for the major deaths, we're going to guess that Nan and Queenie bite the dust.
