Last night, St. Louis fans of Jared Leto's band Thirty Seconds to Mars got to be part of the sold-out show while celebrating his Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.

In response to his nomination, Leto told Entertainment Weekly that he wasn't awake for the news. He was "on a bunk aboard a bus that's traveling across America in the absolute freezing cold, dead asleep," Leto said. "I still may be sleeping; I'm not sure."

Before the show with his band, he described how the night would feel. "It's a celebration. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the night celebrating this nomination. Our shows are all about a celebration. It's all about a celebration of life, and it's a wonderful way to spend your life, sharing excitement and creativity with people all around the world."

In Dallas Buyers Club, Leto plays a transgender anti-AIDS crusader alongside Matthew McConaughey. This was a role that required him to lose 40 pounds and really dedicate himself to the part, and it wasn't easy. But it was a part that he felt committed to and it allowed him to get back into film after a considerable hiatus.

"It was the role, it was the script, it was the group of people that were involved," Leto told EW. "All of those things made it impossible to not be a part. I hadn't made a film in almost six years, and it was time. It's just absolutely insane that I took such a long break and have returned to film and had this kind of support and enthusiasm and love around this film and this performance. There's a lot to be grateful for."
