Boston-based fuzz auteurs Speedy Ortiz have a new EP in the works to follow-up their critically acclaimed Major Arcana LP. The four-track release Real Hair will be available starting February 11 and will reportedly lean more in the direction of R&B, as opposed to the '90s-indebted college rock of their debut.
They've even released the first track off the short-player, a roaring cut titled "Everything's Bigger." Give it a listen below:
Oh yeah, I totes hear some R&B vibes. Somebody go get some unreleased Aaliyah material for the remix, stat! All joking aside "Bigger Hair" is a monster track and we haven't heard the rest of the album, which frontwoman Sadie Dupuis says will be "a lot more introspective-myself dealing with and talking to and making sense of myself."
Bigger Hair EP
1. "American Horror"
2. "Oxygal"
3. "Everything's Bigger"
4. "Shine Theory"
Speedy Ortiz have a heck of a lot of tour in front of them. They'll even be playing with The Breeders as they do some of their full album shows. For a full list of dates, check out SPIN.
