Edgar Wright will direct Marvel's Ant-Man movie for 2015, and fans have been speculating about who will play the character of Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man, in the film. Simon Pegg's name came up because of a picture he tweeted and because of his relationship with Wright, but the actor shot down those rumors shortly thereafter. Now, Paul Rudd's name has come up as a frontrunner and the actor has addressed the rumors.

Absolute Radio caught up with Rudd on the red carpet for Anchorman: The Legend Continues aka Anchorman 2 and asked him about Ant-Man. Here's what he had to say in reply:

"Oh, that's all rumor, man," Rudd said. The interviewer then asked if there's nothing he could tell him and Rudd replied, "There's nothing I know. Sorry."

Rudd's name first surfaced around the same time as Joseph Gordon-Levitt's in October and he was reportedly the frontrunner for the role as of a few weeks ago. Some reports speculated that he wanted more money for the part, so it's possible that he turned down the part. It's also possible that he is still mulling an offer or that he has yet to sign on the dotted line and actually can't say anything. Finally, may not be involved with the project at all and was trying to just put the rumors to bed once and for all.

The casting news for Ant-Man is likely to change multiple times before the movie's scheduled release on July 31, 2015. Fans can next see Rudd in Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which releases on Dec. 20.
