Sometimes you just can't shake your past and Mike Tyson is learning that very lesson. The boxing champion has been banned from entering Great Britain due to his previous criminal convictions.

Mike Tyson has had some pretty wild encounters and quite a few run-ins with the law. Looks like it's all catching up to him.

In the past, Tyson has been convicted of rape, assault and cocaine possession.

Tyson has been traveling to promote his new autobio Undisputed Truth, when he came across a bump in the road.

Immigration law statures in Great Britain does not allow anyone sentenced to more than four years in prison in the country. Tyson's publisher, HarperCollins U.K. says that they were unaware of the changes in the law. The border control changes were made last year.

His trip to Great Britain was slated to be a part of his 36 city tour for his autobiographical film. The film, directed by Spike Lee, was shot this summer. In the film, Tyson details the trials and tribulations of his personal and professional life.

Tyson, a 3-time heavyweight champion, served three years for the charge of raping a beauty contestant in 1992.

The iconic boxer had this to say of his cancelled trip to the U.K.:

"I was greatly disappointed when I learned of United Kingdom's immigration law changes that went into effect December 2012. I have been coming to the U.K. consistently in the past decade so this change is disheartening since it affects my current entry standing. I apologize to my fans that were inconvenienced, however, please know I am currently working diligently with the proper authorities to regain access next year for my U.K. tour."
