Earlier in 2013 when Microsoft revealed plans to release the Xbox One, another huge announcement broke that was just as exciting: Microsoft would be creating a new TV series based on the popular Halo gaming franchise. This week an update on this project came along, stating this new show will be hitting the small screen in early 2014!

One concerning fact about this new show is that it will be on Microsoft TV, a new service for Xbox owners. This means that in order to get this brand new idea to viewers, another brand new idea has to be built.

"We aren't Netflix, we aren't Amazon, we're a different animal," Nancy Tellem, Microsoft's president of entertainment and digital, explained. "We're neither or we're a little like them. It all depends. The lack of black and white and this is the template and this is what we're following is very difficult. As we continue to do deals everyone's going to get more comfortable.

Tellem went on to explain what we can expect from this new venture and teased that gamers will be very happy with the overall product.

"We're talking about exclusives, exclusive first windows, exclusive second windows," she said. "We play a lot with windows and co-production arrangements and whether we feel these are ideas are franchise building or we can own completely."

What do you think of this news on Halo and Microsoft TV? Are you worried that this is too much too soon or do you think Microsoft can pull it off with the deadline laid out?
