Cat Power releases 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' in Apple ad

Cat Power (real name: Chan Marshall) released a version of the Christmas classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" in conjunction with a new Apple ad that features the track.

The commercial, titled "Misunderstood" shows a kid constantly buried in his phone as his family engages in Christmas-y activities. About halfway through the ad, the kid switches on the TV and beams a montage of all the Christmas activities that he put together on his phone. The piece is soundtracked by Cat Power's rendition of the song made famous by Sinatra and Judy Garland.

Of course, 99.9% of the time people who spend their family time staring at electronics are just being rude. So, while the commercial is awful sweet, I'm going to have to call BS.

Cat Power appears to be feeling better after threatening to the leave the US earlier this year do to  a disagreement with the path of the country's political system. She just wrapped a tour in support of her 2012 album Sun.
