Earlier this week, a new Nintendo Direct was announced and considering it's the end of the year many people figured this news wouldn't be too impressive. Luckily everyone was wrong and some great games were announced including a brand new Zelda platform entitled Hyrule Warriors. This new (working) title is for Wii U and will be released in 2014. Let's find out more about and watch a gameplay trailer for the new game!
Forbes reports:
It should be clarified that Nintendo has come out and said this is not the next-gen Wii U Zelda title that's taking so long to develop. This is a spin-off project, and those expecting a lengthy, deep Zelda experience may be disappointed. That said, what's being shown does look incredibly fun. Honestly, and I can't remember the last time I've said this, it might actually be fun to play with a Wiimote, judging from the style of gameplay. Even just a minute or so of the game makes it look like a blast, though I suppose Dynasty Warriors style combat isn't necessarily for everyone.

Again, this is mainly an experimental game and is not related to the usual Zelda franchise games in terms of story or feel. Should we be crossing our fingers for another Zelda announcement coming in 2014, then?
Other games announced with this week's Nintendo Direct include Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, and others. Check out the entire Nintendo Direct right here:
